Opinions on Flexwatt heat tape

boabuff Aug 06, 2008 07:47 AM

Ok, so I need some opinions on the use of flexwatt tape. I am going to build a larger home and was considering using the flexwatt tape... It seems to heat the enclosure but has low energy consuption? Seems a bit too good to be true, so I value any opinions and insights you guys can give me...thx

I wouldn’t use anything else for my boas. It's easy to use and you can cut it to size. Low energy consumption and the tub slides right over it. Flexwatt has my vote.

Great product, especially well suited for use in racks. Also works well for solid enclosures provided the floor area where it is being used is relatively thin. IMO does not work so well when trying to heat through 3/4" plywood. Works GREAT on plastic cages.
