new eggs

my bearded dragon has just given birth to 20 eggs over a period of about 24 to 30 hours, is this normal, also how long do you have to put the eggs into a incubator before they die?

That's normal far as I remember.

Eggs should be put into an incubator immediately. If left sitting around they can quickly dehydrate. Temperatures which are too hot (above 85F) can quickly kill the eggs. Too cold can do the same. If the temps are in the mid 70'sF and care is taken that they do not dry out or are turned, they should be ok for a short time.

However the incubator should have been available and ready long before the eggs were laid. Did you breed your dragon at all or otherwise expecting these eggs? If she was never with a male and housed alone, the eggs are infertile and can just be tossed out.

she has been with a male and i believe the eggs are fertile and the reason they were not put in the ready incubator right away was because i was at work

ah, a few hours out of an incubator won't harm the eggs, but definitely get them into the incubator as soon as possible, if they are not already. How you worded your post sounded more like many others new to breeding who failed to do research. Sorry if I came off sounding rude.

well this is my first time but i have done a lot of research and everything was ready to go and then i came home from work to ten eggs. the incubator was already on and stable for three days since i know she was going to give birth soon i just happened to be at work. but i do think the eggs will be ok as most of the have are already showing the red spot. Thank you for your help

If you got them into an incubator within 24 hours you should be fine. That is assuming she laid them in a nest of moist substrate so they didn't dry out. If their still OK in 2 weeks they should hatch.
