Cyrtodactylus technical question

lamarr Sep 04, 2003 05:51 AM

Is louisiadensis still considered a seperate specie fron irianjayensis? I have a reverse trio of the latter and a chance to buy a large group of the former. Would be interested in splitting louisiadensis with someone.

According to the EMBL reptile database, they both separate species! Heres a quote explaing the difference;

'From Cyrtodactylus louisiadensis (DE VIS, 1892) Cyrtodactylus irianjayaensis sp. n. differs by fewer tubercles on the back, fewer tubercles on the lateral fold and fewer praeanals pores." (from Rösler's abstract). "This species is well known in the pet trade as the New Guinea phase of Cytodactylus louisiadensis." (Boris Klusmeyer, pers. comm.)'

Hope this is usefull in some way

Claire

PS: i would love to share some louisiadensis with you but i doubt you could get them to the UK
