I was just if any of you could give me any ideas of where to find herps around sacramento?

this is the best time of year! just find any road west of sacramento, and cruise it between 2 and 4 pm. best of luck and post pics of all your great finds.

Down in the delta is a good place. Plenty of gophers, garters and western yellow-bellied racers. Kings, too. Before I moved, I used to go to Mather Lake as well. There were always plenty of snakes there. Not sure about if you can walk along the river banks and look around, as from what I've heard, they've made it illegal to even fish from the banks. Haven't been back to California in a while, but have been dying to go.
