natural enclosure substrates?

Hello,
I was wondering what kind substartes I could use. I want to make the most natural looking set up I can for my little prince MR. Peepers. I want it to be comfortable for him and safe but eusthetically pleasing as I am moving him where The the cage will be seen more than just in my reptile room. I was looking around and found someone who said I could use orchid bark, but I don't know about that. I was thinking about using eco earth or some kind of organic soil, even then I'm still a little cautious because #1 thing is his safety.I would greatly appricate any thought and pics if anybody has any natural setups that they use.

Thanks

I use aspen for my cornsnake. I find that it absorbs well and is pleasing to the eye. Stay away from any substrate that has not been treated (parasites). DEFINITELY STAY AWAY from cedar (oils are poisonous to reptiles). The jury is still out on the harm of using pine.

I have a video on youtube regarding a "natural" looking cornsnake enclosure. Check it out and tell me what you think:

Youtube channel is under "Checkthedanctionary".

1.0.0. amenalistic (red albino) cornsnake
0.1.0. normal Royal (ball) python

1.0.0. Betta

0.2.0. English Bulldogs
0.1.0. miniature piebald Dachshund

Yeah thats what I thought but the problem is no place around me sales aspen bedding,go figure. I was wondering if anyone has used Zilla's Douglass fir and Euctalyptus shavings. It says it is for burrowing animals like cornsnakes. I don't want to blow my money on something that is not good for him and I can not use. Another thing I thought maybe was using fluckers reptibedding soil and just baking to make shure it is parastites free, but is that stuff bad for him as well?
