Large homemade suboc enclosure

crestedcrazy Aug 09, 2008 07:06 PM

While the wife and kids were on vacation I got bored and built a huge enclosure for a pair of subocs. The dimensions are 5'long, 3'wide and 5'8"tall. I think the subocs are enjoying it. They are out and active alot more. All the rock was collected in the Langtry area. I wanted to do a rock wall like the Houston Zoo enclosure but I'm not that handy YET.

Cool, I will be able to make some vivariums to when we finish the new snake room. Do you know what locale they bogeys are?

Nice project....
Looks like that would be a natural for a faux rock wall!!!

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm going to do more research on building the rock wall and try it. Neither of that pair are locale specific. I only have one normal phase yearling suboc that I know is River Rd. Chris Drake

That's a sweet setup! I'm going to have a "winter project" coming up, constructing something along those lines for my Russian Rats.

I would be concerned for a possibility of thermal burns if that inside light where on for long periods of time.

Beautiful enclosure and snakes

Thanks for the comments guys. I agree about the thermal burns. I'm going to frame it out and screen over it so it isn't accessible. It hasn't been turned on since I took the pic. The cage is so tall I had a hard time getting a good temp gradient. Chris Drake
