How easy is it clean urine stains in Freedom Breeder cages? Do they stain?

I recently purchased a used freedom breeder mouse rack that needs some work done to it. It is very rusty and I would like to repaint it what would paint would work best? I also need 40 tubs for it are there any cheaper alternatives or do I have to spend 400$ for new ones from freedom breeder? Any help would be appreciated.
