Hey Coldthumb....

kingofspades Aug 11, 2008 02:15 PM

So I've been looking at pics of your Super Paintballs all night, and I like them...
can't seem to find a pic of the original though.

Then someone posted a pic of a Super Granite somewhere...and well...compare.

Super Paintball

Super Granite

They look incredibly similar.

Cool snakes either way

Both super granites imo.

>>Both super granites imo.

I think the term granite has been thrown around alot, due to the fact that nobody really knew what every animal(they were breeding out)was going to prove to be.

Technically,I couldn't have called my Paints "granites" even if i had wanted to..Reason being is Ralph Davis had already proven a line of animals that he is call "granites/super granites".Which are quite a different mutation, especially in homozygous form.
See his birthing records page of 2007,clutch #34

I wasn't trying to start anything, I just noticed similarities.

All night huh,did yah make it down to the harsh mp3s?

Luke, that animal is from the Mark Haas line...and you're right it is very similar to my Paintball line.
A few differences can be seen on them(color, and levels of the distorted look),but both do exibit the "reverse calico" look(ie,White scalation on the outside of the keyholes. As opposed to the way Calicos show white on the inside.)As well as the broken dorsal stripes.

Now whether or not the two are compatible is yet to be determined...Let alone what is going to occur when either line is bred into another mutation of the granite type(or even Ralphs true granites)

I have 1.2 07 animals similar or the same as the super paintballs. They just looked completely different than the pictured super granite as babies. Just so much more vivid in color. Would like to see pics of that animal shed out and grown a bit.

mhaas91 Aug 11, 2008 06:30 PM

Here is a picture of her as an adult. Right around 1400 grams right now.

I chose granites just because I hate naming things and it was easy. I guess I am just too lazy.

she is GORGEOUS!!!!---awesome snake!--looks very similar, almost like the difference between a lesser and a butter

bsr inc Aug 11, 2008 07:17 PM

mark
do you have more than one?---if not--we should talk--she would be a good mate to my male!!

mhaas91 Aug 11, 2008 08:41 PM

Yeah I have more than one. I actually produced her early last year and produced more this year.

Thanks,
Mark

No subliminal offense intended on my part there Mark....I'm just of the opinion that when these animals are crossed into certain mutations, the difference will be obvious compared to what the original "granite" line will be.
Like say calicos,shatters,fires,clowns,pieds,caramels,lavendar,etc..

No offense taken. I agree with you that these are different than granites.

here is 1 of the females of a 1.2 group I got from Africa last year at about 4 months old. She is gorgeous now at about 800 grams. She and her sister are between 800-900 grams--there brother lost his appetite after an early breeding attempt and he is now back on track but lost some time--he is about 600 grams now. We hope to breed him to some nice normals this coming year-we have 7 virgins set aside for him.

Ben,
Isn't seven virgins what a muslim jihadist martyr gets in heaven?

BTW, One of my Ivory females has speckles like your male, only not nearly as many.

What is the difference between orange and yellow bellies?

Mike

bsr inc Aug 11, 2008 07:13 PM

Mike
did you produce the graphite from my animals? Orangebellys are what I call my male and the babies from his bloodline. They tend to develop orange as they grow like my big male. I also think it can produce the graphite ivories, which in turn can produce the ss ivorys. I am actually curious to see if you produced any of those weird striped ivories like I posted from your group Mike.

and i think muslims get far more virgins but I am not historian.

RyanT Aug 11, 2008 07:28 PM

Muslims get 72 virgins. And yeah...they really believe that.

pitoon Aug 12, 2008 04:15 PM

littleleeper23 Aug 13, 2008 08:26 AM

AS Achmed the dead terrorist reminded us they said 72 virgins. That is not as specific as it should be. There are some pretty ugly guys out there too. Look up jeff Dunham if you do not know what I am talking about and PREPARE TO BUST A GUT!!! Lee

mikebell Aug 11, 2008 10:02 PM

All of my yelow bellies came from you. One has the speckles, all have the yellow stripe still. None of the YB's seem orange though. I'll take a pic tomorrow.

bsr inc Aug 12, 2008 07:18 AM

the orange is a relative term. More orange than the yellow type. And not so much on the belly, kind of throughout the animal. If my male is not in shed, I am going to put him on display at the expo.
