Anyone wean a stubborn mouse eater from adult mouse to slightly larger Rat pup?

My snake eats 2/3 large mice a week am trying to wean him to slightly larger rat "pup" .

Will NOT touch it have tried storing/thawing rat with mouse feeding both same time but will only take mouse.

Surprised this is an issue with such a greedy eater but 2 months later only mice.

Any suggestions ? I havent let him go hungry but dont think that will help.

mice are as good as rats

mice can be cheaper

most snakes don't need 3 mice a week....I don't know what you got

they eat what they want..be glad it eats mice......

try having chinese hamster eaters,peromyscus eaters, african soft furred eaters...chick eaters even......

I thought rats would be better as instead of 3 large mice a week would go with 2 rat pups .

Its a Honduran about 5 feet.

Nah you are fine with mice. I feed my snakes mostly mice. no worries and try not to be so hard on yourself.... it not like your snake are not eating at all. just be lucky with that

Lol its that I ordered 100 rat pups .

oh well I allways wanted a ball python might as well look into one now lol.

I just ordered another 100 mice so wont make that mistake again.

well you could always pick up a nice normal ball python and feed it off with rat pups....or better yet get a kingsnake, bull, pine or gopher.
