Look what hitched a ride from San Jose..

Hey everyone,

Well, after contemplating for a very long time, I decided to make the leap and spring for a Hypo Motley, but not just any Hypo Motley. A Hypo Motley 100% Het Anery, thus making this little girl a Hypo Motley TH Motley Ghost!!!! Here she is still in her transport cup. I didn’t want to bug her too much so I just snapped these quick pics before putting her into her holding tub, where she happily took her first meal with me the next day.

These aren’t the best pics of a hypo motley, but she is downright awesome in my book. Completely happy, and I’m excited as can be to see her grow up with me.

A big THANKS to Dave of Rainbows-R-Us for letting this girl go, and being an upstanding and downright cool guy to deal with. Nothing like talkin' boas with someone just as devoted to the hobby (if not more so) than yourself.

But I didn’t make that long trip up to the San Jose show for just one new boa. I also picked up a male from Dave’s “Reeses Pieces” litter. I saw one of his holdbacks at the show, and all I can say is WOW!! The color on the male that I picked up is not close to his holdbacks, but he is not too shabby if I do say so myself. He is in shed right now, but he is also settling in and took his first meal with me the next day I returned from San Jose. I must say that even in shed he looks great, so I can't wait to see how he looks once in his new skin.

I will definitely take better pics of both of them out and about once they settle in and digest their recent meals.

Thanks for looking,

Jay

It was actually fun driving up. I'm one of those rare few that actually enjoy driving extended periods of time. Kind of relaxing for me. Plus this drive resulted in new snakes for me, which is always worth it!!

Thanks again for the compliments. Let me know when you have time to swing by and check out the new babies.

Talk to you later...Jay

Hey Dave,

Thanks again for everything. I'm still kind of getting over the shock of having such an awesome snake in my collection. She's settling in very nicely, and gave me a half-hearted hiss just before she took her first frozen-thawed meal for me. It was pretty cute. I might also add that she is simply HUGE!!!, compared to some of my other boas of similar age. I can't remember, but were the babies in her litter just bigger than normal? Regardless, you did an awesome job with that entire litter.

And, no worries with the pastel salmon. I know his colors are gonna "pop" once he sheds. Because if he looks that good while in shed, I can't wait to see his normal colors.

Again, great to meet you. Now go and make some Salmon Jungles Het Anery with that Woody of yours. He is one good lookin' boa!!!!

All the best...Jay

Most welcome, Her litter was a very nice full term litter, no yolks and they pretty much all eat every week.

That litter is also a hisser litter, no striking but several do like to puff up and look big and bad.

I don't mind the hissing. Like we talked about a few times, nothing wrong with a little hissing. I'm actually glad to hear and see this little girl of mine hissing a bit. Let's me know she's got a little "umph" in her, which I think is a good thing.

Hope your BRB season is just as good as your BCI season. Have fun with all those babies.

WOW!!!...If only it wasn't so darn HOT down here, I'd love to get into rainbows because they just look downright cool to work with. I just think the summers down in southern CA would be too unbearable for BRBs. And I don't have the extra room or the $$$ to devote a temp-controlled room for the likes of rainbows and other herps requiring cooler temps (though I wish I did).

Congrats on such a fine looking bunch.
