kammekammo Aug 11, 2008 10:25 PM

Need help with my saharan sand viper. This is the third one i have had in the past few months. I cant get them to eat, they were bought at a show and i knew going into it they were going to be a challenge. She is about 9 inches and wont eat at all. Any help on this species would greatly be appreciated. thanks

FIRST OFF THEY NEED TO BE KEPT IN AN EXTREME ARID SETUP WITH SAND THEY CAN HIDE IN. A HOT SPOT IS NEEDED THAT REACHES TEMPS OF AT LEAST 98-100 DEGREES IN ONE SIDE ONLY. SECONDLY THEY ALMOST NEVER EAT ENDOTHERMIC PREY. YOU WILL HAVE TO OFFER LIVE LIZARDS AND GECKOS..GOOD LUCK....TC...THERE IS NO NEED TO PROVIDE WATER FOR DRINKING....
