2 questions (maybe more...)

1. How long do you wait on a good looking unopened egg before "cutting" it? This batch started hatching last Friday and the last one that opened itself came out yesterday. I have 2 eggs left. One looks unpromising, but the other looks perfect and candles red, but there's not sign of the baby working on the shell. This whole clutch has been very orderly and one at a time which is really odd to me.

2. I've seen lots of Anery type A motleys and stripes, but does anyone have a picture of an anery type B (charcoal) motley or stripe? Do they look any different like they do in a normal anery vs charcoal? Along those same lines, a ghost is hypo/anery. What is a hypo/charcoal? Does it look just like a ghost.

Thanks for feedback/answers and sorry if I'm asking questions that are common knowledge, the more I think I know, the more I realize that I don't know hardly anything.

If the neonate doesn't pip by this evening, I would probably think about carefully cutting the egg just in case the hatchling has a problem emerging.

If you do some google "image" searching, you should be able to find some pics of some hypo charcoals,....I've seen several before. Hypo Charcoal's are known as "Phantoms". Keep in mind though, these can be extremely variable too just like many other morphs. As you would expect from this combination, they tend to be lighter than anery type A ghosts, and are usually a light silvery gray as adults.

The sooner you cut eggs, the better. The longer you wait, the better of a chance that the snake within will expire if it cannot get out on it's own accord.

I've "played around" with egg cutting for years and if done right, no harm can come of cutting eggs once the first one from a clutch has hatched. On the other hand, if you wait too long, you could lose hatchlings.

I haven't seen any charcoals like you mentioned, but I agree that there's a heck of a lot of Anery A stripes and motleys around.
