They are imported by the hundreds of thousands, and are sold to dealers for just a few bucks a piece.
They are then sold at flea markets, reptile shows, and even on these forums for as cheap as $10.
Like all mass-imported animals, they are cheap and most people buy them as a fad, then 99.9 of them end up dying in a very short period of time, because they are "disposable".
In my opinion, I would never support the importation of niles or savannahs.
Please research something else for a pet monitor, for you and the animal's sake.
That is what I am trying to stay away from. I DO NOT want a $10 Import. I want a Good Healthy C.B.B. Nile Monitor.
I know there is someone out there that is working with them. Why wouldnt you? That is what we are trying to do isnt it? Stop the Imports?
Is it not worth working with them because they would only go for like $50.00 each as Captive borns.
That is the problem with people in the Reptile business. If you cant make a fast $1,000.00 off something you think it is not worth working with.
I Like them. So, Maybe I will someday be the one that will be selling Good Healthy C.B.B. Nile Monitors.
Thanks for your Reply.
