Speaking of bad eggs....

cn013 Aug 13, 2008 02:14 AM

When this clutch was laid I really wrote the lot off... all have calcification 'issues' and it was the female's Calvert's first year breeding. One of the eggs (center right) even began to split with ongoing development. They all had a 'yellowish' tint and frankly I expected to see them falling off as time went by... imagine my surprise to find these guys crawling around tonight. Just goes to show it's wise to keep everything!

Careful though, you may be tempted into the hobby again! I'll admit it's getting pretty bad over here... Anyway thanks alot and I'll hit you up soon man!

Beautiful little animal Chris!

Were the parents known hets, or was this one a 'happy accident'?

Thanks Trevor...

Well a little of both I suppose the male is a visual and the female a clutchmate. I'm pretty stoked to see them shed out... plan on outcrossing this line as well... just was curious to test out the dam. Glad I did!

Thanks Doug. You know what I'm pretty happy as is... if anything else hatches it'll just be a bonus at this point. Though I am really pulling for the one that split open... it'd be a keeper just for sentimentality.
