Great shots Stu.. What type of snake is that with yellow(ish) body and the black head?
~ Mike Russo
Thanks Mike!
I haven't kept up with my taxonomy like I should but I believe it used to be called a Blackhood Snake (Tantilla rubra cucullata). I hear tell that it was recently combined with the Devil's River Blackhead Snake (Tantilla rubra diabola). So maybe it's a T. r. cucabola! Sounds like some kind of mixed drink!
Stu
They are both considered T. cuculatta now.
