WTG He looks good.
One problem I did notice is his hide, it is to high and he is to exposed in my opinion. They like to crawl in dark places during the day to rest. I would give him a lower one to hide in.

which hide are you talking about? the one hes under in the picture?

if so tahts a ramp to a higher level, another member of the forums told me that the ramp is a good idea but if you think i should change that to another hide i will.

Niki458 Aug 14, 2008 10:42 AM

I would keep the ramp. I'd just put a smaller one under it so it don't feel exposed. Maybe a half coconut shell or something.

i have a question about the ramp though, im not sure the gecko will use it.. is that true?

and today it turns out my gecko regurgitated some mealworms, what is going on? other than that hes been quite healthy and was licking moist paper towels in the moist hide

i dont know if he uses the water bowl i gave him though

Niki458 Aug 14, 2008 04:49 PM

I'm not sure wether or not he will use the ramp but I would leave it in and give him some time he might. As for regurgitated
food I've never had that happen so I would keep a close eye out for that maybe he just ate too many at once. I rarely see mine drink do don't worry about that.

ya he looked realy hungry and he was 4 or so inches long when he ate like 8 1/2 and 1 inch mealworms

he regurgitated 5 of them in a small bundle and now hes not eating anymore but just sleeping

should i give it a rest first before reintroducing feeding?

p.s. it dosent seem to use the moist hide much, would you think there would be a problem? Its a small rubbermaid lined with very moist papertowels. I dont know if the opening is too big or maybe the clear sides make it feel too exposed

Niki458 Aug 15, 2008 03:31 PM

I would reintroduce about 4 mealies see if he eats them. Mine don't go in the moist hide much either mostly when they are going to shed.

trex8692 Aug 15, 2008 04:08 PM

well hes eating the mealworms again but i noticed yet another problem

the calcium dish that i have dosent look like its used much. in the dish i have: 2 parts jurassical, 1 part jurassivite, and mealworms

im trying to see if i can "train" the animal to eat out of the calcium/mealworm dish but it dosent seem to notice it. Ive tried luring the animal to the try with mealworm/tweezers but he just seems to ignore the dish.

also i think my leo is about to shed because hes getting a little paler and is starting to show some small flakes on his skull. (havent seen him use the moist hide yet)
