OT - Not a Tegu, but its' slow today!

This is our recent adoptee, Adonis. We believe him to be American Bulldog x American Pit Bull Terrier. After losing our 16 year old Shepherd mix to a flipped gut in June and our two female pits now both over 12 years old, we decided to adopt a little red nosed pit from Pit Bull Rescue Central. Well wouldn't you know it, this big guy ended up stealing our hearts as well. He's had it really tough and seems to have been smacked around and also had to undergo heartworm treatment, but now he is 100% healthy and fitting in nicely to our home. When he first met Squishy the Tegu (through her cage doors) he went ballistic and wanted to eat her, but he has since realized that she is off limits and is content to just sit outside her cage and observe. He is truly one of the best dogs I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

He's beautiful! I love those little spots. Aren't Pit Bulls wonderful animals? So smart, and they love to cuddle! I do Pit Bull rescue and have two of my own (one is actually probably a mix). Because I'm a proud "pibble" momma, here's a picture of my babies (including my Husky, Freya). All of mine are rescues.

A looooong time ago, when my two 12 year old females were just young 'uns, I babysat a 7 year old who wrote a letter to her dad (who lived in anothe state) about the wonderful dogs her babysitter had, and that they were called "pipples". Boy that brought back some memories. They really are the best dogs, though! And I think my two rescue dogs are just extra special, as you can see by the picture on the bed! I'll have to post one of the puppy on the couch. And to think that before these two, there has been a "no dogs on the furniture" rule for the last 12 years!
