which is piled sand, back the way it was, in a big heap, they never know they are gone. They still go in and keep piling sand for days on what they think is their eggs. Never take the eggs in front of them, I feel that is very wrong.
Take its eggs when its gone, then scatter pieces of chicken egg all over where the eggs were and make the sand look like something was digging! (And don't worry EVE, they didn't see you taking the eggs! Because THAT would scare her.)
PS. I would never do that to a lizard. A chicken maybe...
