Cool garter pics!

daneby Aug 15, 2008 11:05 AM

You can see the rest of my pics from the last week on the field notes forum in just a bit.

I watched this little guy catch a fish

Looks like he must have had a leopard frog for breakfast

Look at the size of this girls head!

Yea dude, Its pretty cool, I go to this little spot called West Bank Park on my lunch brakes & watch them catch fish all the time. Alot of the time there will be 10 or more fishing in the same spot, unfortunetly I dont bring my camera to work most of the time, but you know how it goes you find the coolest stuff when you leave your camera at home.

Thanks,
Dan

Man, I need to find a spot like that to take my lunch break, instead of sitting on my ass at my desk on kingsnake

Yea, Ive seen alot of things down there that sure made me wish I had my camera on me. In May of this year I found a male plains garter breeding with a big female wandering there, & of corse NO CAMERA, I'll probly never see that happen again either.

Come on over Wayne!

dekaybrown Aug 16, 2008 09:29 PM

Dan is that a "red tail racer"????

Awe come on man, your killing me.

All we got out back it Thamnophis Sirtalis, Eastern milks, DK browns, red bellies, and the rare black rat. There are some green snakes and ringnecks, but I have not seen any in 15 years.

I can drive 10 miles and see rattlesnakes, but the whole area is fenced in and the law will nab anyone who jumps the fence!

Regards,
Wayne
