New thayeri clutch

mheidka Aug 15, 2008 03:25 PM

Hi Guys,

I've been "off the grid" on the forum lately due to a busy summer, but i wanted to post some pics of a new clutch that just shed.

I've had a rather disappointing year with my thayeri clutches, so I'm happy to see how pretty this clutch turned out.

First picture is of an aberrant bowtie from the same parents last year. The next is the only holdback from this recent clutch. The rest are sibling females. I'll post the males next.

Maria,

First off, VERY nice babies and I can see why you're keeping #2...

I hope all is well now from your "physics experiment"? How are you these days?

Welcome back...

Hi Jim,

Yes, the broken bones are now healed and I am fully functional again...thanks for asking .

Thanks for the compliments on the clutch. I had a couple other clutches (my most anticipated ones) go bad with a yet unidentified fungus (at least it appeared to be a fungus to me). I stumped my reptile vet with this and samples were send off to be tested; but a month and a half later there is still no concrete identification.

I hope your well, and I see you had a recent clutch hatch...congrats

Maria,

Thank you very much for the kind words for the "children" and I know you're very happy about being mobile again...Although I'm sure you're still knocking off the rust...

I'm sorry to hear about the "growth" in the incubators...Will you discuss the outcome when (and if) you find out what it was? Just wondering...

Hi Jim,

Thanks, and yes, full disclosure as always. I'm increasingly surprised to discover the void of knowledge when it should be present, considering the sources.

Shoot me an e-mail....

Wow Maria. Nice work! I really like the twin spotted look on the first one. BTW, any LMT15M sired, LMT21F, LMT16F, and LMT3F clutches this season? I hope these were not some of the bad ones. Talk to you later.

Hi Jonel,

Yes, LMT16F and LMT3F mated to LMT15M clutches both went bad. Very disappointing. Both clutches looked fertile, yet succumbed later even though I had other clutches in the same incubator that hatched out fine. Still trying to figure out the problem. LMT21F will go next season...I didn't want to rush her. Still thinking about who to pair her up with. any suggestions??

Those are awesome, it would be interesting to cross your "split bowtie" line with one of the "spotted" lines to see if they complement each other. Nice work.

The 'bow-ties' are awesome! A definite keeper if hatched out over here.
