Opinions please...i really want to know!

Ok.........here's the deal. I've seen some people claim they have so called look alike Phantoms. I think DWHERP has something he's calling "Mystics" which are still unproven. However there's some out there that kinda do look like them while some don't.

My question is what do you think of my CH 07 import? Pics aren't that great, but you can still see quite a bit. I personally have never seen a Phantom other than in pics, so it's hard to say what everyone and myself is claiming.

However i've got this hard gut feeling she's something special. She's way lighter than a normal, kinda looks like a darker phase of a Mojave, her flames are pretty much white within them, has hooks to die for, and has eyes a bit darker than a pastel. If she's not a Phantom, ok...........but i know she's got to be genetic some how, some way!

I've compared my female to Nerd's and RD's pics of Phantoms and she looks very very similar. I've attached pictures for comparison. The lighting on in my pics are terrible, but you can still see certain details.

People please give me your thoughts, i'm really curious to know, thanks!

Looks like she definetly got some phantom in her! I would keep one of her male babys and breed it back to her to see if anything pops out like a super form! Then you'll know for sure!! GOOD LUCK SHE'S BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! BOB

First off, I'd say yours could possibly have just as much of a chance of being a Phantom as mine. That random blushing and the clear belly. You already knew what you were gonna hear right? Breed it and find out. That's what I'll be doing. The reason I say it's weird timing is because I just got a GIGANTIC female 2 days ago that looks very much like NERD's (the 3rd pic down in your post). She's literally pushing 6 feet and weighs approx. 3500 grams. She's in shed right now, but as soon as she's done, I'll get pics. She's just amazing. I'm breeding her to a YB this year to try the unlocking hidden genes trick. Depending on what comes out of that, I'll know what my next step will be. Hopefully it will be breeding a non-YB male that looks just like her, back to her. I can't imagine her not having a very respectable sized clutch for how big she is, so I should get a lot of options. I can't wait. This is the kind of project that just keeps you going and going. Fingers crossed for both of us. The "mysticism" just never ends with the balls, does it?

yeah the only sure way to find out is to breed them. my lesser comes in next month so you bet she'll be paired up with him. if they produce a Lucy, then i'll know for sure.

there's alot of people out here saying they have look a likes. but i have not seen one person out there with a real Phantom besides RD. I even sent RD an email asking if he can shed some light. He hasn't replied yet............maybe he's tied up but he's usually good at replying.

she looks different for sure, i'll try to post some better pics. please post yours after she sheds. i'd love to see what you have.

Like I said they are variable , I have some that are like that, less "floating donuts" on the sides, less of a Mojave "look" to it.. The blushing , head and belly markings are what I think are more of a constant.. The blushing on a Phantom is different than the blushing on a Mojave , so is the pigment on the belly.. Anthony McCain. ps pic is of a Mystic (on top) and Mojave, easy to see they are similiar yet different...

Dan has Mystics , which ARE proven genetic, they are codom.. Pastel Mystic eggs are cooking now at Dan's place as well as mine so we will be able to see the Pastel Mystic compared to a Pastel Phantom yet this fall.. The part that isn't proven is what the Super looks like, I have the oldest female Mystic that exists and she is just an 06 that is still to small to breed.. Mystics like Phantoms are variable, I have ones that look so much like RDR or NERD animals that 99% of the people out there wouldn't be able to see a noticable difference if there were 3 of Ralphs, 3 of Kevins and 3 of mine all in a tub together.. You may pick the nicest 3 out of the pile , BUT you may find that you picked out the best one out of each of the 3 lines and not just heavy one way or another as to who made what... Anthony McCain..
