How often do emeralds shed??

agentskoal Aug 15, 2008 05:53 PM

Ive had my emerald for 2 months, and he hasnt shown any sign of needing to shed. I would like to know how often they shed so i know whether or not there is something wrong with him. His humidity stays 60-70% at night and 70-90% during the day, with temps 74-78 at night and 78-85 in the day (85 under the basking spot). Let me know!
thanks

Maybe 4 times a year..

I never payed much attention on that, but I have records.. If Im not wrong it could be even less than that for some individuals.

I would say maybe 3-4 time per years. Emeralds are not the most active snake if you compair them to most colubrid snakes, and colubrids only shed 4-5 time per year as adults. I would not worry to much about your ETB not shedding just yet.
