He looks little skinny to me, but I'm no expert. Ask for an eating guarntee, because 200 is a lot of money if it doesn't eat.

I agree he looks like he could use some mealworms, superworms etc to fatten him up, you can see the flabs of skin hanging off him.

well it depends on what you are looking for, worth is all a matter of preference if he is perfect for you, hes worth the 200, if he isnt quite what you want then perhaps not. Best thing to do is if you like his color, talk to the breeder, ask questions about diet, health and whatever else and get opinions. go to the boi and look them up, and if you want you can make an inquiry about the breeder.

I don't think so, and it looks a little thin to me...
It's a very pretty beardy, but I wouldn't pay $200 for it.
That's just my personal opinion though
Good luck!

His adults come from good stock and htat is definately a nicely colored dragon for the blood line to produce. From what I've seen they tend to color up with age and that hatchling already has nice color.
However, it doesn't look very healthy at all. Looks like it has missed a few meals or doesn't get enought o eat. His lil belly should be plump and no skin hanging like it is. I'd be skeptical of buying him due to health issues even though he is a really nice looking lil blood dragon. Just my personal opinion.

I've paid more for some dragons, because to me they were worth it.

As for the health.... I do have to mention that he does have a good tail base, that tells me overall he is getting good food intake. His body seems long and thin in the picture. I know that photo can change appearances and also that some dragons can pose is some ways to that look thinner than they are.... BUT.. look at his tail base, the area over his hips and also the fat pads on the head...... this dragons is healthy.

We have some that grow so fast, they do appear thin in body, but looking at other markers you can see they are fine. A few can even suck in their tummies and look like they are starving..... beardie attemps to get more goodies I think!

IF he were not getting enough food, his tail base would be thin, not as plump as that one's is

or is that dragon not also in the middle of shedding?
It's tail looks like it hasn't sluffed off the old skin, but that could just be a trick of the photo and lighting...

Ours always look a bit dehydrated or under-fed while shedding, even though we keep them well-fed, misted, and put them in the bath regularly.

Could that be what be What we're seeing with this one?

Ok I will start by saying ........you asked for PERSONAL JUDGEMENT. This is mine:

If you were a good friend, I would tell you you would be a fool to buy a lizard that is advertised lookin like that. Usually a buisness takes a picture when they look at theyre best. HOLDBACK ,HA, Looks to me like no one bought it because of pics like that! If that is it's best...........

Now I have never heard good or bad about that breeder so I will not down them......lol.......but.......go buy a dragon at the sandfire dragon ranch for close to that if not cheaper from some of the best known breeders in the states.

Last month I sent the breeder an e-mail regarding getting a dragon from them. I was going down South and would be less than 15 minutes away. I was wondering if I paid them paypal, if I could pick it up myself.

I was told that they are strictly mail order and that shipping would be less, but they would still have to ship it. That raises some questions, so I decided not to buy from them.

tattooz79 Sep 06, 2003 09:04 PM

I do agree with the fat tail idea......but i would still be sceptical.

If not from the pic, the mail order thing would FORCE me not to buy from them. It's not like the guy wanted a tour!! He just wanted to save himself some money AND the dragion would proably get alot less bumps and bruises on his way to his new house.

Hearing that I will never buy a dragon from them. I don't care what anyone says about their stock. Anyone that ever comes to my house for the first time, surprise or not, they get the grand tour. If eggs are in the incubator, they see that too. And when it comes time to sell my babies I never have a problem selling them, I don't have to advertise, word of mouth sells more than I can produce. Sorry for rambling but that is horrid in my eyes.

And yes I have spent more than 200 on a dragon. Get what you want......don't settle on what someone else tells you to do.
