Where did you get that snake? Looks similiar to a few animals I have here, Anthony McCain..

Anthony,
Where did you get yours? LOL

I knew there was another person on here that had Mystics, besides DWHERP. Just couldn't remember the persons name. Mine is a CH 07' import from Ghana, that i bought from an importer in Germany, i'm in Italy. I paid a pretty penny for her too! the only reason why i bought her was because she has to many things going on in terms of markers.

i agree with you 100% they look like Mojaves, but at the same time they don't.

What i see on mine are the follwing..........
1. eye color, darker than a pastel but that same look
2. flames that have pure white scales within the flames
3. white belly
4. huge amount of hooks
5. faded head
6. floating donuts/irregular alien heads
7. way lighter than a normal

i HOPE she will prove out for me next season. i already have a male picked out for her.........so we will see.

if you don't mind can you post some pics of your founding female? i seen DWHERP post an ad on the classifieds and they look really good. me like!!!

i'll post some pics of mine along side a normal for comparison.

I am the one that started the project.. The original Mystic was an import , thought to be just an ugly Mojave.. Offspring from that original immediately proved he wasn't a Mojave as he offspring don't look like Mojaves at all, similiar yet not the same.. I have YET to have one person that has looked at them (and has made Mojaves) in person say they are just Mojaves.. The ONLY morph they resemble is the Phantom, it's that simple... Here is the original picture of the founding male Mystic next to a classic Mojave, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see the differences... My question to you Pitoon is.. "If this isn't a Phantom , then what it is"?? I'd love to hear what you think these are...... Anthony McCain..

Pitoon , here is another pic of baby Mystics for you to view..

As for your snake , the one looks real promising to me. I would breed it to a Lesser/Butter or something in the "Blue Eyed Leucistic family".. If she is a phantom then she will make a white snake when bred to lesser or butter (in theory a Mojave "should" also make a white snake with a phantom but the pigment on a Mojave is darker so it may be a slightly different "Super" using a Mojave). If you prove that much out and do make a white Super form, just keep back a male phantom baby (another reason to use a Lesser/Butter as they look nothing like a Phantom) and breed him back to mom, then you will have a Super Phantom if that is what she is ,once you get enough good eggs from the mom x son that is! Do you think she is worth keeping?

Yes, I say any female that looks like that is worth breeding out. If it was a male I would also breed it out if you have the females to spare.. I have a male here that was an import hatchling , he is a very odd phantom looking specimen. The only issue is that I haven't had the extra females to breed him out.. I know what the Mystics should produce down the road so I would rather make more of them than even mess with proving out a new line.. Bad part is I have about 3k tied up in him so I either need to dedicate a few girls to him this winter to see what he produces or just sell or trade him for something I need more of that's a female instead. Anthony McCain.

nice girl, in my books any female is worth keeping. after all they are one one who produce the eggs

here she is as a baby here is one at around 900 grams here are 2 pics of her at 1300 grams

Pitoon's is taking after a Phantom. Yours is more of a Butterscotch Ghost. A lot of nice animals popping up unexpectedly lately.

pitoon Aug 17, 2008 06:17 AM

yours has some good flames on it and i sweet faded head, but they don't quite look similar. does your snake shed clear? it has a killer golden brown head that resembles a hypo, but unless it sheds clear it's no hypo.

now i have another female very similar to yours, and i'll be pairing her up with a male ghost in the future. mine has a nice faded head like yours however mine doesn't shed clear, just imagine what kind of Hypos you can produce by select breeding. in time.....
