Hello everybody, I have been reading this forum since October 2007.
I love how helpful everybody is to each other. I feel like you all are close friends. Now on to my problem.
I am new to the breeding thing. In the last 18 months I have been collecting as many morphs as my wallet, and my wife will allow. I tried my fist breeding and ended up with 5 eggs! (the only two big enough were het yellow ghost to normal) I was amazed. I got a hand me down fridge incubator that works great! Using heat tape, computer fan, and a Ranco. It's been a constant 89 degrees. On my 2nd or 3rd week the eggs collapsed quite a bit. I was scared but left them alone, checking weekly. Than I realized that I had no humidity. (I opted for the substrateless method) So I threw some plastic ziplock baggies over and shut the lid (6qt. sterilite)
I figured they were gone since two of them were molding. I left them in all this time and today I was gonna toss them. It's been 54 days. I cut one open just to explore (holding my breath because I didn't want to smell) and I noticed a baby ball in the egg. How can it develope if it's bad? So I screamed for my daughter (Izabell 9yrs old) to grab my camera. I took these pix. and as I held open the flap, IT MOVED!!! Holy Cow What do I do!?! I put them back and cross my fingers...
I only cut the top of one. (thanx to all you youtubers I learned alot about cutting)

Thanx for any input, Justin

Congrats on your first clutch!!! I have actually had eggs that look worse hatch out. I usually cut all my ball python eggs around day 53/54; i incubate mine around 89.5. The others should pip in a few days or so. Mine usually come out the egg around day 59-62. I check on mine everyday once i've cut them and wait for them to come out.

I would see if they will seperate. If they are ready they will do so very easily. That will give the eggs on the bottom more room to hatch. Just pull slightly on the top egg and set it beside the other two. Congratz!! keep us posted on their development!

I did seperate them and cut quarter size holes on top and all 3 are alive.

yea.......DONT try to seperate them.....just leave them be....nature knows what its doing......you could cut the other eggs, but at the point youre at, they should pip on their own soon anyway...if you try to seperate them you could easily rip the eggs.
