I know this sounds whiney...
but I spend most of my "visiting" time in their pen pulling out growth. I would love to plant something this year, that would "look good" next year...
My 3toed baby from last year has outgrown its hide, so I have been constructing and firing new ones. Next week, all the hatchlings go outside, new big pen, covered, with all new ceramic hides. I am going to be glad to have my counter top back after a year!
thanks for the answer. I will certainly add a bunch of sand./patsy
>>We have gutters so roof runoff is minimal. The substrate is sand, so it drains quickly. I've added a small compost pile in the back pen. It's mostly oak leaves, but my MEBT really loves digging around in it! Also this year I also dug out two fairly large holes and filled them w/ top soil and planted ferns. Next year they should be looking pretty good!
