I guess I forgot to explain! The first pic is a male and female EBT. They came together. The next pic is a juv. EBT, probably female. She came from another place. (MATTs actully). She is the next pic also.

In the next post are pics of the 2 boxies I already have. The first 2 pics are my OBT, female, the bottom is my male EBT.

I have the girls all in one enclosure. The boys are in another, but I have the new male in a kiddie pool so he's not in trouble w/ my male (Spike). Spike is such a small turt I was afraid the new male would bully him. But I underestimated Spike's scrapiness! He wasn't going to give up any territory w/o a struggle! lol!

Congrats on your new additions! Some real lookers.
I would really like to add a few more Easterns to the two juvies I adopted from MATTS, but it will probably have to wait until the spring b/c of a lack of money.

Thanks for explaining who & what.
I just love when people post pix of their BT in the enclosures.

It looks like one of the enclosures is next to the house?
If the enclosure is utilizing a side of the house, do you have any problems that I should think about?

I am looking to move my 3 biggest hatchlings outside.
I will need to contruct a top on the pen because of cattle egrets.
The birds eat everything here and are often in our yard.
(They also eat avocado, for those that participated in the avocado string last summer.)

Thanks and good luck with the new crew./p

I have an enclosure against the back of the house and another one against the front of the house. I have not encountered any problems with this. But here is a hint, whenever I have not been able to find one of the turtles, I always found them dug in next to the foundation!

thanks for the reply.
I guess there wouldn't be a problem w/ runoff from the roof?
Toxics from some paint, etc?
Thanks again,/p

We have gutters so roof runoff is minimal. The substrate is sand, so it drains quickly. I've added a small compost pile in the back pen. It's mostly oak leaves, but my MEBT really loves digging around in it! Also this year I also dug out two fairly large holes and filled them w/ top soil and planted ferns. Next year they should be looking pretty good!

I know this sounds whiney...
but I spend most of my "visiting" time in their pen pulling out growth. I would love to plant something this year, that would "look good" next year...
My 3toed baby from last year has outgrown its hide, so I have been constructing and firing new ones. Next week, all the hatchlings go outside, new big pen, covered, with all new ceramic hides. I am going to be glad to have my counter top back after a year!
thanks for the answer. I will certainly add a bunch of sand./patsy
