TonyT Aug 16, 2008 10:03 PM

I was curious if I need to suppiment my Red Tail Boas rats with anything when I feed? Any feeding tips or any other tips for her care would be greatly appreciated. Heating, Feeding, Water features in cage, etc...........

Thanks,
TonyT

My suggestion to you is to read everything you can get your hands on. Many good sources of Boa husbandry are available to anyone who is willing to search. Normally supplemental additives (Calcium, vitamins)are not necessary in my opinion. If you wish to add once in a while it can't hurt though.
One of the best sources of care can be found at the Link I'll provide below labeled "Ultimate Care Guides" .
I really suggest you read this info in its entirety.
It covers many pretty much all aspects of your Boas care.

I like to switch up their diet every so often by throwing in some chicks.

Rats as a staple, rabbits and chicks on occasion (unless of course they are large enough to where rabbits have become the staple).

Rats, rabbits, and chicks .... and rodent pro even has some quail available. Feed chicks and quail sparringly though as they can cause loose stools. Boas LOVE them though!
