What kind of cage would be best for a dragon?

Pogo Sep 04, 2003 04:14 PM

Hello I need some advice on which material I should build the cage from. Glass, plastic mesh (Like the apogee cages) or metal mesh. I've had problems with snout rub on the metal and glass cages with pets before. I also don't like the airflow or the sound resonance in glass cages. What do you think of the plastic mesh cages? My biggest consern would be the heatlamp through the mesh not heating enough.

i prefer all glass or the melamine and glass (sliding glass front) its much easier to acheive the temps needed to keep these guys in that type of enclosure.. just my opinion

I like the melamine cages with the sliding glass fronts as well.. even though the melamine is not that attractive, it works great for dragons. It's all white so it helps reflect light inside the cage keeping it brighter which in turn helps the dragons show color and stay active and alert.

Rather cheap to build your own too. We build all our stuff and it's worked out well.
