Possible Hurricane Coming To Florida

bonomoc08 Aug 17, 2008 05:04 PM

Has anyone heard of the possible hurricane coming to Florida? As of right now, it is a tropical storm, but it's expected to streinghten into a hurricane as early as tomorrow. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with my box turtles and tortoises, if it comes, but I'm thinking of putting them in the reptile display case I recently got, with the exception of the sulcatas, they'd probably be roaming the house. I'm right in the flood zone, and I'm just hoping they don't tell us to evacuate. They'd probably have to drug me to get me out of the house, my animals are that important to me.

Pardon me if I state the obvious.
After seeing how many pets were displaced and/or died as a result of Hurricane Katrina, I would sincerely hope that anyone with pets (who truly cares about them) would have an evacuation plan that included their animals.
Simply hoping that evacuation won't be necessary is NOT a plan.
