Bob clark determined that albino is a recessive mutant gene in ball pythons. So when an albino is mated to a normal, all the babies are hets and look normal. If any albinos come out of an albino X normal mating, then the normal-looking snake is actually a het albino.

100% probability het is a long-winded way of saying het.

66% probability het babies come from a pair of hets.

50% probability het babies come from a het mated to a normal.

Just to clarify for others.

Het x het.=25% are homozygous 2/3 of the normal looking babies will be Het for W.H.Y. Thus 66% possible het

het x nomal = 1/2 will be het for W.H.Y. the rest are normal thus 50% poss het.

Phenotype is the color form of the animal
genotype is the gene itself expressed or not.

Phenotype and genotype are the same in a homozygous animal

Phenotype and genotype are DIFFERENT in the heterozygous animal.
