100% accurate Leopard Gecko sexing!!!!

ElapidSVT Aug 18, 2008 02:03 PM

by simply shining a flashlight through the base of the hatchlings tail you can see the internal structures and blood supply to the hemipenes of male leopard geckos from the day of hatching!!!!!!

now you can be 100% certain of your leo's gender at any size!

careful about the tails, eh!

has this helped anyone?
i was really excited about being able to sex hatchlings considering all the non-guaranteed tepmerature-sexed animals for sale.

I tried it as soon as I saw it....albeit I didn't have a flashlight so I held 'em up to a light bulb and couldn't make out anything witht the backlight blinding me (flashlight probably works a lot better). I will try the flashlight as soon as I get hold of one (at college now).

Great thinking though....it stinks buying a leo and the sex turning out to be something less preferable than the one you were hoping for.

.......as for the forum. This place has kinda died.

I am interested in finding out if it really works. My baby Leos are gone for this season and I am not expecting anymore for about 5-6 months now. I was hoping for someone else to respond saying it really worked. I also must be missing something in your picture because I am not noticing anything really.

As for the forum, you are right it has slowed down a bit, but hopefully it will get busy again.
