Another accomplishment from TSK.........

TSKinc Aug 18, 2008 06:20 PM

We are very excited to announce that we have proved out another morph. This stated about 5-6 years ago. We took a chance and bought the father on the hopes it would be genetic. You have seen the "Black Stripe" ball listed on our morph web page. Well we bred it a few years ago and none of the resulting offspring looked any other than normal. That was a let down at the time as you know how anxious you get waiting to prove something out. So we kept everything and grew them up and bred the father back to the female offspring this season. Well here are the results. An awesome new morph to add to the list of balls you have to have in your collection now. The first picture shows this new morph still in the egg. There was a little celebration going on in the room

Well that is the whole clutch above. I would say that proves out the "Tri Stripe" ball python. Still working on a name for this one as well. The best I have come up with is tri stripe but we are still working on it.

A long project that panned out. Nothing on this snake said I am genetic you must prove me out. It was just a cool looking snake that we had to put the time and effort into. Wish all cool snakes proved out but they do not all work out that way.

Absolutely amazing! I really like the tri-stripe look. Huge congrats for sticking it out for the years it took to prove out this morph!

That is really nice looking.
It is nice to see something brand spanking new and not just a variation or combo of something already existing. Nice to add another reccesive morph also. COOL STUFF. You guys going to have one at daytona?

bsr inc Aug 18, 2008 06:45 PM

Tri stripe is the perfect name for that one as well--simple and fitting

tskinc Aug 18, 2008 06:49 PM

Yes it does seem like a good name. We have tried to think of things in "Threes" but "Hat Trick" "Triple" etc just did not sound as good. I do not know if we will have them in Daytona or not as they will just be in the deep shed. But we will see what happens. Thanks for all the kind words.

Albey Aug 18, 2008 11:22 PM

Dan and Collette,
You have to bring at least one of them to Daytona. Otherwise how is Celia going to get a decent picture of one? LOL If I wore a hat it would be off to you. Congrats big time.

How about Trillium? I'm terrible at names, lol.

I remember your Coffee and VPI's Labyrinth. I was heartbroken on those not proving so I'm sure it was much worse for someone actually putting in the work. Congratulations on this one working out!

Randall_Turner Aug 18, 2008 06:50 PM

That has to be one of the coolest looking Ball Pythons I've seen. I can honestly say I absolutely want one of those beauties. Looks like I'm gonna have to start sucking it up and getting some BP morphs.

Huge congrats on proving out that awesome trait.

Congrats!
I am really hoping that some of these will be at the Anaheim, CA show in Sept to see in person. I got a het clown from you last April (doing great and growing like a weed) and I just can't wait to meet you in person. Your breeding program is awsome!

That's hilarious. I was thinking along the line of tires because of the stripes, but the phrase "skid mark" has another application (can't help it, I teach at community college and am around some rather immature/crude language every day from some of the students fresh out of high school). I like the "treadline", or even the "Goodyear", especially since it seems to be one for TSK! The "Daytona" might also be appropriate

TSKinc Aug 18, 2008 08:58 PM

Funny because we have called it the racing stripe for alot of years now. We thought of Daytona, NASCAR, all the oval tracks I am with you it does have racing in its blood.

You guys seem to be having one hell of a year! On top of everything else you prove out a new RECESSIVE trait... wow! It's been a long time coming, not just for this morph, but also for the hobby (to have a new recessive morph to add to the mix).

Great looking morph... I know everyone is already thinking of all of the potential combos (myself included), but they look awesome just the way they are.

Brandon Osborne Aug 19, 2008 01:31 AM

That is an impressive looking little animal. So unique and interesting... Its probably that much better in person too. I hope you'll be in Daytona, so I can just SEE one.

I like the name "Tri-Stripe." Its very simple, not confusing and lofty like a lot of the newer weird names people having been coming up with. I like the direct names.

I also like simply just the "Tri Ball." Its kind of a spin/play on words off "tribal."

I have to throw the name "Rodan" in (I had someone translate that a couple years back for the name of one of my normal, solid-stripe, non-genetic females). "Rodan" means "little road" or "pathway" in Irish Gaelic. Now I am no Irish Gaelic expert myself, LoL, but its a thought. I just thought it'd be intersting for your new, beautiful little snakes with their continuous little stripe or "pathway" .
