Anyone know of a good source for a zoo/museum style name plate for a display cage? Not too large, just something big enough to put the common and scientific names on.

any trophy shop would be able to make some name plates. They would have tons of choices. That's really the only place I can think of right now.
Hope this helps

check your yellow pages for Ad Specialty companies in the "Printers" section. most print shops do not actually do the work in house, but job it out to larger companies that do. Call a local printer and they can point you in the right direction.

If you want to go for a simple method, you could go to a horse web site (such as doversaddlery.com) and order a horse stall nameplate. They engrave 2 lines for you for relatively cheap. heres a link:
http://www.doversaddlery.com/stall-namplates-and-signs/c/1864/c2c/sc/
You can look through them and find one that uses 2 lines. If you look in search engines, also, for nameplates you should get some similar cheaper places. I like you idea, and if I had the money I'd do that on all my tanks.
P.S. I ride horses-this is why I know this
I'll check them out.
