nelsoni clutch out

Dniles Aug 19, 2008 06:00 PM

The first nelsoni clutch have all emerged from the eggs. I'm happy with the way these turned out...all but one are very high red and all have symetrical banding. There are a few absolute screamers in there as well.

Unfortunately once I had time to take pictures most are now going into shed. They will just glow after they shed.

My second clutch started pipping this afternoon. I love this time of year!

This guy is one of the screamers from the clutch I think.

Wow!,....that IS a really unique thin banded "pinner" of a nelsoni!

I agree with Doug, I'd call that a pin-banded albino Nelson's. That would make for a great selective breeding project. Congratulations on the rest of the clutch too - that's a good looking bunch of babies.

You guys picked up right away what I'm trying to do with these nelsoni...have the triads be as thin as possible. First snake is out of the second clutch and is unreal...will post later.

Very nice Dave!, I see a real "fatty" in there too!..LOL!

Good luck with the second clutch too!

Good to hear Dave. mine are all eating but one so they are doing just fine.

Thanks, Doug. That fatty crawled out of an egg that was noticably larger than the rest of the clutch. Its a monster!

by saying congratulations on your very first clutch of albino nelsoni!! They are absolutely beautiful as I knew they would be. I knew a few years back when you received that female (the mother to this group) from me that you would eventually get some fantastic looking offspring. She is indeed capable of producing those screamers that I had once described; the nice deep red individuals that stand out from the others in the group. That old '95 model Moody line high-yellow male (your groups grandpa) still produces a few of those a year.
All of those babies are top notch buddy. Now the hard part will be deciding on which ones you'll want to keep for yourself. Good luck with that, I'd keep them all...LOL!!
Keep me posted on the next group.

Thanks man. I knew that female you produced would produce her own lookers some day. She proved us both right this year! Talk to you soon.
