Now who is the sandbagger?!! Very nice! How sad is it that I produced Blue Eyed Lucy's instead of those! Guess there is always next year. Congats- Jared

Congrats Brad! Kingpins are one of my favorites. You proved that they only get better when crossed into other morphs. Thanks for sharing!

Super Awesome Job,Brad.!!! Wow big Congrats on those Pups. How nice is that, they look alot like a Mojave Lemon Blast. But much more golden colored. I have to stop out this weekend and take some pics and hold one of those in my in my Mouth. I need to taste the butter in one of them

I do beleave those are the First Lemon Blast Butters Ive ever seen or heard of,has anyone produced any of those? I think Your the First to do so. Amazing Cross there Buddy. Fricken Awesome.!!! Is the Super Blast the Dad to those? You have to be happy about those. What will You call them ? The Mac/Cheese and Butter ball.... Great stuff Man

Are Kingpins not Lesser x Pinstripe? I believe the first Butter x Pinstripe cross to be made was by Mark Mandic, and if my memory serves me right I think he called them "Creme de la creme"? If I'm right, that would mean these are "Creme de la creme" Pastels... or whatever name you want to give the new triple combo... I don't think "Kingpin" should be used even though I'm one of those that have the opinion that Lessers and Butters are likely two lines of the same morph. The name Kingpin was tagged by Ralph Davis when he first crossed Lesser x Pinstripe I believe.

Congrats on a nice hit! They look awesome by the way!!

Regards,
Bristen.

Kingpin (Lesser Pinstripe)
Pastel Kingpin (Pastel Lesser Pinstripe)
Pastel Butter Kingpin (Pastel Butter Lesser Pinstripe)

I know Lessers and Butters are thought to be the same gene, but the name seems contradictory

Just curious....
thanks

bristen Aug 20, 2008 07:56 AM

it's a triple: Pinstripe x Pastel x Butter...

if it would be a Pinstripe x Pastel x Butter x Lesser, it would likely be white as I think a Butter x Lesser will produce a BEL... the way he named it thus far is confusing... Kingpin should not of been part of the name he used... I think anyways..

Regards,
Bristen.

Kingpin should apply to lesser and butter, so maybe should just be called pastel Kingpin

bristen Aug 20, 2008 08:26 AM

yeah, that would work I guess... but "Pastel Butter Kingpins" doesn't work

there needs to be a way to separate the 2, otherwise why call 1 a butter and call 1 lesser. I would guess it would be similar to buying a leucy...you'd want to know which combo produced it. Since they won't be able to prove they are the exact same unless genetic analysis is done, I would keep some line differences.

I am assuming a butter x butter = leucy...I really don't know, any help????

just an opinion

bristen Aug 20, 2008 09:15 AM

I don't know if anybody has produced a lucy by breeding Lesser x Butter... when a such a lucy bred back to a normal, would there be a clear cut difference with the Lessers and Butters produced or they'd all look the same? I think it's likely a different bloodline of the same genetic mutation and the difference between both could get rather small with some selective breeding... but what do I know?!?!

Regards,
Bristen.

herby07 Aug 20, 2008 09:18 AM

my answer...but I would still think if you are going to call them differnt things (lesser and butter), then they should have some name marker for record keeping purposes.

I wonder if they are the same gene or just different alleles....interesting

thanks all

I am only kidding about the name PutterPin.

I don't golf, so I have no idea if such a product exists in a pro-shop somewhere.

Congrats on those.
Another day, another great new designer morph...
