Just wondering why the red or maroon hatchlings are normally more expensive then the yellow? They usually turn out to be green correct? Just curious...

Red baby are not as common, but the only reason that i have heard is that red babies tend to come out with more blue markings as adults. That is just what i heard, but i have never hatched out any red neonates.

Red babies tend to go through a more intersting color change than yellows. As far as which is more common, I believe red babies are more common in captive designer bloodlines. Also, nearly all genetic blue animals are red as babies. As far as other clutches, I would say it's about 50/50.
IMHO, higher pricing of red babies is only due to the captive populations that have been line bred over the last 30 years. Most brokers just follow suit because they don't know any better and they are out to make a buck. In some bloodlines yellow babies are priced higher. It all depends on the genetics involved.
I hope that helped.
