Large Vision Tub for Ackies

I am thinking about purchasing a large plastic Vison Tub their biggest for a trio of ackies theat I plan on buying,my question to you all is this tub ok would it be better to purchase a large trough, I will be puting acrylic on the top of the tub to cover it.

They are nice tubs, but it would be more cost effective to buy a trough.

Yes it Would be more cost effective , but not by a whole lot , plus the Large vision tub would be alot lighter than the metal trough.

Can you put 1200 lbs of dirt in the vision thing? I would bet my galvanized trough weighs about that, and its only 4x2x2, with a top built out of metal and lexan.

That's another important point. If you plan on putting a substantial amount of dirt in the vision tub you are probably going to need to reinforce the sides, and definitely the bottom of the tub.

Thats a good point on the strength of the vision tub? My 4ft trough has 1ft of dirt and weighs 600 lbs! Anothere thing is the vision tub will receive scratchs and abrasions which will allow the monitors and bugs to climb the sides of the tub. I would go with the galvanized feed trough, there nearly indestructable!
