Seremban (Bernama): For the past several months, nine ducks belonging to marketing manager Nik Safian Afzani Omar, 31, had been disappearing one by one.
Irritated and thinking that they might have been stolen by some mischievous kids, he decided to install a closed-circuit television (CCTV) in the duck pen, located in his backyard.
"At dawn on Thursday, as I watched the CCTV, I saw the the ducks running helter skelter and the culprit in black," he told Bernama.
Rushing to the pen to catch the thief, Nik Safian said he had a shock of his life when he saw that the culprit was actually a three-metre long python, which was asleep after devouring one of the remaining ducks.
The Senawang Fire and Rescue squad was called to catch the snake.
Nik Safian said the python probably came from the nearby swamp and entered the pen via a hole in the wall.
He said he was now left with only six ducks from the 15 that he bought early this year.
