MY NEW BABY ALTERNA

burrabit Sep 04, 2003 07:05 PM

I got this alterna and a durango for 90 dollars (haggled down from 100 ) for the both of them (45 a piece) at the carolina reptile show last week.

I also got a variable from another vender
I got pics of the durango over in the reg kingsnake forum , havent got pics of the variable yet, he hides a lot

both have eaten except for the grey banded, hes the biggest though ( 11 inces )and the guy said he was eating althought i forogot to ask wheter it was lizards or pinkies,

I put a live pinkie in with him and he went up to it and then it moved and it scared him and he was scared of it after that, and hasnt even eaten a dead one.

Anybody got any suggestions? should i try braining first? im new and have only read about it, these are my first ever pet snakes.

Hes the most active and funnest to watch of all 3 and isisnt skittish, hes always exploring and moving around, gets up in the air a lot too, is a good climber

sounds just like mine, not skittish, very active, likes to watch whats going on in the room, GREAT climber and escape artist should see him climb the wire on the digital thermometer...
You could try scenting with one of the shed skins from you other snakes, just try rubbing the pinky on it, might work. I've never tried braining, never really needed to.
