So my beardie is about 7" long to the tail and I'd like to add other critters to his diet, specifically meal worms. If I get small worms is it ok? Right now he eats mostly .5" crix and a little greens.

still a little too small for mealworms... if you must go with worms, try small superworms or silkworms (again small). Mealworms have a lot of chitin and can cause some problems. We never use mealies even on our adult dragons, but that's just our preference.

I may get heck for this, but I've been feeding my beardie a few mealworms a day since I had him, and have not had any issues with impaction, poor digestion, or anything else. I usually feed about 1 doz .5 crix in the am, with a big bowl of his salad (kale, and a spring mix combo) for him to nosh on all day, then in the pm he gets another 1 doz crix (approx) and about 3-5 meal worms. After he has the mealworms, I spray him down so he gets a good drink. Sometimes I'll get a few waxworms for a treat, but not often. I'm hoping to find some silkworms at the White Plains show this Sunday.
