Are there any "sought after traits" people are looking for in eastern milk snakes? Both of my adults are brown ( so my wife tells me--- I am mostly color blind and a Jacks a-- according to her) One is dark and the other lighter.

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. Having said that, in my opinion, the easterns that have the lightest background and closest to white with redder blotches are most appealing. That one adult you have is a great example of what I like to see.
Thanks for the information. All but one baby look like the daddy--- which is the one with the light gray backround.
1st: one that eats well

2nd: good redish or chocolate brown

3rd: thick black borders

4th: as stated above, bright clean background without too much newsprint (blackish marks on the background) Newsprint shows on the sides toward the tail more the the head and dorsal surface This one is not as bright as others I have had

This on is the brightest I have ever had

5th: sexualy active is a plus , lol

Awesome photos!! The one I just caught two days ago has a real clean backround that makes his blotches "pop". Not quite as clean as the one you have but still pretty good. I will be watching the little ones to see how they progress because I know they can change a little when they start to grow. Most look like the one I just caught though. If he is not the father I would be surprised. Thanks for the photos. Love em.
I agree with Dave and Doug - a clean background and high contrast are a big plus in the easterns. I'm also a fan of orange flecks in the background coloration. As Dave noted, everyone has their own idea of what makes a nice appearance.

Like the others have mentioned, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I pretty much like them all! My female normal shed last night so I took some photos to show her true colors. These are the first outdoor photos of my two easterns.
