Bearded Dragon

gtrejo Aug 23, 2008 11:46 AM

About two months ago i bought a baby BD and he seemed fine. within a few weeks i began to notice a small bump on its back. I didnt know what it was, but my dragon seemed fine, he was pretty active and ate normal. I noticed that the lump on its back was getting bigger with time, and began noticing that my dragon wasnt as active and didnt eat much at all. more time passed and it hardly moved and then my bd died. Does anyone konw what that could have been from?

I would say that large bump that kept growing larger and larger on his back was likely what killed your dragon. Rather appalled you didn't take him to a vet weeks ago when you noticed the bump in the first place. For the cost of a few bucks you most likely would still have your pet.

The bump could have been something that would have killed your dragon no matter what..but it could have just been an infection..having a vet drain it and give your dragon some antibiotics may have been all that needed to be done. Hard to say as you didn't include any pictures of your dragon showing where the bump was.

Sounds like a calcium/UVB deficiency.

I agree...not taking your dragon to the vet was not right especially while you were noticing the lump getting bigger and bigger. That is just sad that for a few bucks...he/she may still be alive
