4 months old Gecko

Callidryas Aug 23, 2008 02:14 PM

Hi!I got a Gecko three months ago and "she" (I think, heh)seems to be doing rather well, but I'm not completely sure, 'cos there are no geckos anywhere near to compare her with... She should be around 4 months old, eating well (mostly meal worms and crickets) and I give her a drop of vitamins once in a while (A, D3, B1/12 & Calcium)which she loves and probably would drink the whole bottle if I let her . The ruler in the pic is in centimeters. I'd really like to know how she's doing, if she's too thin, too small, her fingers look right or wrong, tail... etc.. She's supposed to be a High Yellow...

Maybe I'm just behaving like a too-worried momma... But maybe not. I'd really appreciate your opinion, thank you :3!

From the picture I'd say high yellow is correct. As for the size I thnk she could stand to gain a bit more wieght. A picture of her from above would also help. Her tail looks ok but she looks a bit skinny in the body. You didn't mention it but are the crickets and mealies well gutloaded and are you dusting them with calcium and vitamins.

Tnx for answering . I thought too that she was thin but I wasn't sure cos she's growing and dunno... growth sprout and that... But she was thinner when I got her, reptile care here in Mexico isn't xactly at its best.

The bugs r being fed premium dog food and I put the calcium directly on their boxes, and they actually eat it. I also put some more on the bug tray in the girl's enclosure so she nibs a bit more. The vitamins I give her in drops like I mentioned, once every week or so. She's rly shy on the eating matter, but I know she eats because the bugs disappear.

Here's the above pic, I love her patterns, kinda wish they stayed that way ;P. The three even spots on the white of the tail (thus named Orion), the C/O shape on the hips and then the way the spots of her rib cage look like a tiny vest X3. Maybe I'm just obsessing, but she's a cute girl, even if she's not a fancy morph. Tnx for your help :3

looks fine....she will get a lot more yellow as she grows (who knows, maybe she'll develop some more interesting "marks). I wouldn't worry too much about her weight, just means that she is using most of her energy into growing....she will have plenty of time to "fatten up" later.
