If you missed Daytona...........

RussBates Aug 23, 2008 06:08 PM

you missed a really good show and no....I'm not trying to rub it in. Day one is in the books and in my opinion the selection this year was pretty good. Notables included:

Thayeri from Lee Abbott
Granite Mex Mex from the Bells
Pied Bloodred corns from Brad McDonald
Albino Bairdi from Suncoast
Transpecos morphs from Peace River Herps
Brooksi from Crimsonking
Citrus Super stripe Balls from Yellowbelly.com...amazing python go see it if you missed it today.

And alot of turtles, geckos, dragons, and frogs.

I picked up a pair of Orange Belly het Granite Ivorys BPs from Ben Siegal, a pair of blonde het silver transpecos from Mitch Allen, and a female hognnose. All in all alot of fun and the show host should be complemented on this years plan to open the second floor for viewing getting people inside sooner instead of burning up in the sun.

The sun was out today....much improved over Friday. No more Fay!

Cheers,
Russ Bates

Yes, You are rubbing it in Russ. Why else would I be awake at 5:00 A.M. out here in Cali? I can't slep cause I am not there and I want to be.
Oh well, next year for sure man.I have missed 3 years now after going for 5 in a row.

No Texas or Daytona this year. Its the wifes turn and we are going to Montana to see all her family next month for a week.Maybe I will get lucky and find a garter snake up there again or salamander.LOL...
Oh well, we do have the Anaheim show in two weeks and it is pretty darn good but its not Daytona.

p.s. what are the speckled mex mex going for on the Bells table? I hope they are out here in two weeks.

no I wasn't....just trying to let everyone know what I saw. I always like reading others reviews of the show. Hopefully you can make it next year. No price on the granites and I didn't bother asking since I wasn't in the market for them.

who knows but I'm sure John Schmidt has the details. They don't even look like an albino......more like a hypo. Cool though.

I've seen the Hypo's at Trumbower's, and they are super nice. Thanks.

I asked because if it is amel then you know what I'm thinking, they borrowed the amel from another obsoleta. I'm not saying they did, just wondering.

The thayeri at Lee's table were not produced by Lee, they were from Tim Thomas who is a buddy of Lee's and was sharing his table. Tim got some of Lee's thayeri when Lee got out of them. Tommy Elliott and Alec Estabrooks got the others, and Alec just sold off his adults to someone overseas...I dont know who.
