I just bought a breeding pair of leopard geckos from my local reptile expo. The breeder told me they were raptors. Can anyone verify that they are or if they are het for anything. thanks in advance for any information. here are my leos, sorry for the size of the photo.

The first picture is not a raptor, the second 2 look like it, and the last picture is not a raptor. and how new to leos are you cause you cant look at a leo and tell if its het for anything.

I did not mean to put het. And by the way you must be pretty new also because they are alll the same leopards. Ill listen to the pro haha. Please dont respond if you have no clue.

ok, um you must not know what a raptor is then, cause to be a raptor it has to have at least some solid red in the eyes and both the first and third pictures do not exhibit any solidity in the eyes, go ahead and get a second opinion if you want. Feel free to use the dictionary to look up any of the words i used in my post.

Well ill go get that dictionary. I need the help to translate the herp masters golden words. Looks to me you cant tell two leopards apart. Its funny how immature people can be.

I never said i was the herp master, nor am i anywhere close, all i said was that the leos eyes in the second picture are solid red, but the closeups you posted are not solid at all, not even partially, they are regular albino eyes. And I'm immature? You're the one who asked if you can tell if its het for anything by looking at it, and the one who just bought a "breeder pair" of raptors and had to come here to make sure you actually got raptors.

Actually you can tell if an animal is het for a specific trait (albeit maybe a small percentage). If you know what morphs go into making a specific morph, then you know what genes that morph is capable of passing on...these can be recessive( not displayed in the current morph) and dominate (what you see is what you get). Then you have to determine if that particular allele is passed on from mother to offspring or from the male. After knowing the potential traits that are possible given the situation you are in, then you can make a simple punnet sqaure(s) and determine a rough percentage of the outcome.

I do agree with the eyes discrepancy, but I think that it just the flash of the camera.

I'm quite new to leopard geckos myself and I still have no idea what a raptor morph is.

But before buying any breeding pair, serious research has to be done to know exactly what you're getting. If you really don't care about what morph you get, that's fine. If you do care, then you have to research it so you know you're not getting ripped off by a seller.

Were these an impulse buy or were you planning to get a pair of raptors for a while now?
