OT - Look what I found...

Never made it "on the cover of the Rolling Stone", but I did make the cover of Smithsonian Magazine, December 1979. Onboard the Semi-submersible drilling rig Zapata Ugland, Wildcatting in the Baltimore Canyon, 100 miles offshore Atlantic City, New Jersey in the dead of winter.
I'm one of the three roughnecks tripping pipe down on the rig floor. Photo from the derrick.
Where were you December 1979?

Thanks for looking.

Actually that was sometime in the spring of '79.
I dropped out of college in Fall of '78 and did this to pay for the birth of my son. No insurance. He was born in Feb. 79.
Did it world wide until about 1983.
