Hi, guys I'm new on this. Please help me. what i get from normal X albino balls?
100% het for albino
So, i need het X het to albino?
not all will be albino, but you would produce some albinos wiht a het x het. or just get another albino and all of them will be
to be more exact a normal to albino would produce all 100% het.. you could keep a male or female depending on the albinos sex, breed it back to the parent when he/she is old enough. you then could come out with half albino, half het. you cant always count on that ratio but it gives you a basic idea.
thanks for your help
I put together this FAQ to help explain basic genetics like Hets and Possible Hets, take a quick look : )

link is acting goofy for me, it is the second FAQ down : )

I looked at the FAQ. This sentence is wrong: "There is no 'Het for Pastel' or 'Het for Mojave'."
A het pastel ball python has a pastel mutant gene paired with a normal gene. And a het Mojave ball python has a Mojave mutant gene paired with a normal gene. These snakes do not look normal, which the FAQ has correct. By definition, an animal that is heterozygous for a dominant or codominant mutant gene does not look normal.
Check a genetics textbook or http://dictionary.reference.com for the definition of "heterozygous". There is no requirement that a heterozygous animal look normal.

Yes, Super Scientist Paul, your genetic textbook may indeed be right, but the point of the FAQ is to provide a layman's explanation of how BASIC morph genetics work.
The new hobbyist doesn't know/care about alleles or textbook discussion, they just want to know if breeding an Albino to a normal makes more Albinos.
Funny, I haven't seen "Het Pastels" advertized much either. Thank goodness.
