Would there be any significant problems in housing a Blood Python with a Ball Python? Just curious, I'm going to post this in the Blood Python forum as well to hear all responses. Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend housing any snakes together for a few reasons:
1. May cause stress, which may effect feeding and health.
2. Risk of introducing illness from one snake to another.
3. Difficulty examining waste for problems, not knowing from
which snake it may come from.
4. Possibility of one killing the other, although this may be
rare unless still in feeding mode (especially if fed in the
same enclosure).
Many people do keep snakes in the same enclosure and do not have problems. I have been advised from my breeder to not take the chance. I definitely would not house a ball and a blood together, for they may have different housing needs and temperament.
I don't have much room to house many snakes (especially since my wife is afraid of them). I have thought of purchasing another ball and housing it with my yearling, but my ball is healthy and why chance stress. Instead, I plan to use the room I do have to obtain a variety of different snakes that appeal to me. I currently own only a ball and a corn, but my breeder has a Western Hognose reserved for me after a couple of more feedings.
Hope this helps...

Hi,
Really DO NOT house a ball python and a blood together. REALLY BAD IDEA!!
If you house a ball in Blood conditions it dies!!
if you house a blood in ball conditions it dies!!
This is why you do not find ball pythons in Borneo, just NOT built for those conditions.
Go buy a stellar Blood python to house with your other blood. (quarantine it first).
Buy a hatchling ball, raise it in a shoe box for 3 months move it to a sweater box for the next 5-6 months. Balls have minimal space requirements and PREFER cramped conditions.
