What I got at the Daytona Expo (DUW)

waspinator421 Aug 26, 2008 08:00 PM

I brought home several animals from this awesome show. I'm suprised I was able to pass up some of the animals that were there, as there were some pretty cool ones!

First up is a 1.2 trio of Aberrant Nelson's Milksnakes that I picked up from Ward's World of Reptiles. One thing that I find really interesting is the eyes on these animals. They have dark eyes, but the pupils are red. You can see it on some of these pictures. Anybody know how this happens?

Here is the male:

This female is still in shed, so I didn't bother with a 'fancy' photoshoot.

Here is the other female I got in this trio. I just love the vanishing pattern on her back third.

I also picked up a 1.1 pair of Bismarck Ringed Pythons from Tom Keogan. I've been waiting for these to hatch for over a year. It was great to finally be able to pick them up!

Here is the male, a nice aberrant:

And this is the female:

I also picked up this female light orange Halloween Pueblan Milksnake from BHB Reptiles.

And lastly, is a Pearl Brazilian Rainbow Boa from Tom Davis. I can't believe I found this here! Woohoo!!

I am very happy with these new babies!

Aubrey,
....That male Nelson's milksnake is otherworldly looking. Please keep us posted on how he looks as he grows.

All your new animals are gorgeous, but I especially like the trio of Aberrant Nelson's Milksnakes. They are stunning. Of course I like lots of color (which is one reason I'm getting a blood python with high red parents). But I've never seen a milksnake I've truly coveted before---until now!

1.0 BRB (Loki)
2.0 amel & anery corns (Foxfire & Daguerre)
0.1 blood python (Duchess, arriving later this month)
1.1 Cats (Nightshade & Cuzzy)

waspinator421 Aug 29, 2008 05:17 PM

Thanks Renee! Yeah, they are pretty neat. I can't wait to grow them up and make little abbys of my own.

OMG, you snagged a pearl!! Good for you! That's so cool, I'm so happy for you!

Those abby nelsons are neat, but those ringed pythons are way cool. I wished they retained that crazy orange and black, but their adult colors are so pretty and so iridescent too. They really are neat snakes and if they're like other pythons I've had, they'll have a ton of personality.

What a great trip. Congrats!

Thank you Julie! Yeah I couldn't believe that I found a Pearl there either! Of course it was a no-brainer that she was coming home with me.

Yeah, I wish the orange stayed that vibrant into adulthood on the Rings as well, but I still really like the species. These babies are from a high contrast line, so hopefully they won't get as dull as your average Ring.
