het for nothing mugitus blues

daveb Aug 26, 2008 08:18 PM

I have encountered a number of breeders looking for these, and they are not easy to find. Maybe that's why there's interest, hahaha. Interestingly, most conversation revolves around florida specimens. I'd be interested to see if anyone works with any GA or SC mugitus lineages?

I'm convenced very few people including snake people have ever seen the pininsuler fla color variant of the southern pine, more than 90% of pics on the net are of snakes from the panhandle or otherwise elevated parts of florida where big snakes will out live most others, But the flat parts of florida or other 2/3rds of the state, they are almost gone, I'm an advid commerical collector (not every thing in sight, mostly scarlet kings and red ratsnakes, and only for four months out of the year so pipe down tree huggers!) But I no of populations of pines and see less and less every year and I beleive most of the breeders these days came up in the last ten years in the "Morph Craze Phase" of the breeders world. Get this some guy replies to my post "why would you want a plain ol normal when there are so many beautiful morphs out there" ...the people out there don't seem to realize how fast their disappearing from the wild and how soon we will be desperate for the plain ol normals, especialy the fla pine. You should probably hang on to a pair or two of the next ones you see and set up a group. I'm sure they would be very popular.
